Happy Saturday!

Hi everyone! Just thought I'd do a quick post with my new top ten list from Anthro and a few of my latest OOTD's. First up, did you see the royal wedding yesterday? OH MY GORGEOUS WEDDING DRESS! The whole thing was so grand and beautiful. I totally set my alarm and woke up at 3am to watch a bit of it...in bed. I'm such a girl, right?!

So I've been browsing Anthro's site a little and am loving so many of their new arrivals...so many cute things! My wish list is insane! I've managed to narrowed it down to my top ten (a few are a few months old that I'm still lusting after):

There are SOOOO many more things that I like right now but these are the ones I most have my eye on. I'm gonna try to hold out for sales on most of these things. Do you own any of these? Or want them too??

I went and got my hair done on Thursday and had some more blonde highlights added in for spring...I like it! My hair girl used a much bigger curling iron to curl my hair when she was done so it looks a little different...I think the barrel was too big. I wore my turquoise bracelet AGAIN--that's like the third time this week I think. At least I know it was a good purchase if I keep grabbing it!

Details:
-Bianka Blouse-Anthropologie
-Tank-Old Navy
-Perfect Bootcut Jeans-Gap
-Rocketdog Sandals-Journeys (OLD)
-Bracelet-Macy's

-Ring-Forever 21

And here's what I wore yesterday:

-Ruffle Front Tank-Loft
-Cardigan-J Crew
-Always Skinny Jeans-Gap
-Anticipation Heels-Anthropologie
-Earrings-Stella & Dot
-Necklace-Tiffany
-Ring-Forever 21

Comfy and casual yet a little dressed up with heels...one of my favorite ways to dress.

Tonight is date night and I've already come up with what I think I'll wear:

I'm hoping it looks as cute on as I think it does in this set...you never know!

Hope you all enjoy your Saturday with friends and family...have a great day!

Middle of the Week Outfits

This week is moving SLOW! I swear it should be Saturday already...really. My mom came down to hang out today which is always fun. She's staying the night so she can watch my boys in the morning while I go get my hair cut and colored! I love haircut and color day...two hours of sitting in a chair reading magazines, enjoying the brief moment of no one asking me to do something for them while my hair gets a little prettier (hopefully)...one word...BLISS. Sometimes two hours is all I need. Don't get me wrong, I truly love my kiddos and being "needed" but all you moms know what it's like...sometimes you just need two hours to yourself. It's good for us!

I have a few outfits to share with you from the past two days...first up is what I wore today:

Details:
-Molded and Melded Tee-Anthropologie
-Cardigan-Ann Taylor Factory
-Skinny Jeans-Banana Republic
-Red Wedge Sandals-Target
-Rock Candy Bracelet-Anthropologie
-Kenneth Cole Earrings-Macy's
-Small Open Circle Necklace-Shabby Apple
-Ring-Forever 21

I finally decided to pick up these cute red wedge sandals from Target last week...I was sick of walking down the shoe aisle trying to avoid them. They're so super cute and such a great deal!

And here's what I wore yesterday:

Details:
-Top-Ann Taylor Loft
-Cap Sleeve Tee-Shade Clothing
-Cardigan-Forever 21
-Skinny Jeans-Loft
-Flats-Target
-Lucky Necklace-Macy's
-Bangles-Gap Outlet

-Ring-Pac Sun

I found this cute cardigan last week when I was looking around Forever 21 for a maxi dress (which I found...can't wait to share it--it's SOOOO cute!!!) and loved the spring like colors and wide stripes. It is really well made for being from F21 to be honest...I've been quite impressed with the few things I've found there lately.

So hopefully the rest of the week goes by quickly...I am really looking forward to the weekend. Hubby is coming home after being gone for two months for work, we have a date night planned with friends and then I need to get my house picked up and ready for my inlaws who are coming to visit next week. Lots to look forward to!

Hope you all have a good day!

Here comes the Sun!!!

Hi everyone! Hope your week is getting off to a great start so far! The sun is shining brightly this morning which automatically puts me in a good mood. Did you all have a good Easter? We had a very laid back day...church, Easter egg hunt in the backyard, yummy dinner...just me and the boys. Hubby was working. =( Growing up I always got new Easter clothes for church so I now do the same for my boys (and me sometimes too still....haha). I saved a few bucks on myself this year by wearing the cute yellow dress I won from Pamela's Shabby Apple dress giveaway a few months ago. I LOVE it! It's so bright and cheery..perfect for Easter Sunday. I was literally as bright as the sun in this dress. You could see me coming a mile away but that's ok..that's what makes the dress so fun!

Details:
-Happy Talk Dress-Shabby Apple
-Wedge Sandals-Banana Republic Outlet
-Cake Decorator Belt-Anthropologie
-Earrings-Stella & Dot
-Bangle-Macy's
-Ring-Forever 21

Thanks again to Pamela for this cute dress...I love it!

Yesterday started out kinda gloomy, cold and overcast so I opted for some warmer clothing. I even pulled out some boots!

Details:
-Soldierly Sparkle Tee-Anthropologie
-Breezy Polka Cardi-Anthropologie
-Skinny Jeans-Banana Republic
-Riding Boots-Old Navy
-Earrings-Old Navy
-Necklace-Fossil
-Ring-Target

According to the weather report I won't be dragging out too many more pairs of boots in the near future...we're looking at weather in the 70 degree range with no rain for the next 10 days at least, which is perfect. Looks like spring actually might be here to stay!

So did you score anything on sale this morning at Anthro? Do tell! I picked up a few of my wish list items that hit sale...the Oil Paints Cardigan and the Bright Future Top. The cardigan is 3/4 sleeve which is perfect for this time of year and the top is lightweight and short-sleeved...a great spring/summer item to have. I love me some polka dots!

Well, I'm off to get my day started...hope you have a great one!!! Enjoy the sunshine!

Anthro Fitting Room Reviews--end of April

Hi there everyone! Hope you're enjoying the Easter weekend with friends and family! As promised I have another round of fitting room reviews to share with you from my trip to Anthropologie last week. Once again I have a few sidekicks with me in the dressing room so please excuse the occasional appearance of a child or two. =) I'll start with my favorite find, and eventual must-have of the day:

Tie-Back Tank-$68 (I tried on the Orange motif)

I picked this up initially because the colors were so bright and cheery. I had seen it on the website but hadn't really thought much of it because of the way the bottom hangs (longer on the sides and shorter in the middle--I'm not always a huge fan of this look). However I decided to give it a try when I saw those gorgeous colors. I tried this on in an X-Small and it fit good...shorter ladies may be sized out on this because it is pretty long all around. It is obviously made to be long and on me it is plenty long, but I think it's not too long. Maybe borderline. I don't really care...it is adorable and I even had in it my hand to take home with me that day but decided to be a good girl and wait it out till sale time. I didn't try the red motif on (which I would call navy blue, honestly, but it is really cute as well. Overall a really cute piece to have and it could easily be paired with many different colors. It's on my wish list for sure!

Brickwork Tee-$58 (I tried this on in the grey motif)

This top wasn't my favorite. I didn't love it and I didn't hate it. It's just ok. I certainly wouldn't shell out $58 for this tee...it's not worth it in my opinion, at all! It's blousey and even in the X-Small that I tried on, it's borderline too baggy. This is a pass for me.

Ruched Hourglass Top-$48 (I tried this on in both the pink and navy motifs...navy doesn't appear to be online)

I picked this top up in hopes of loving it but as of now it's just "like" for me. I tried it on in my fairly normal Deletta size X-Small and found it to be a good fit. I tried both the pink and navy versions and preferred the pink. The silhouette of the shirt overall is kind of boring to be honest...even with the little ruching details on the front and the back, I just wasn't wowed (the back is the cutest part I think). For now its a pass but I may reconsider at sale time.

Wandering Wake Tank-$48 (Sky motif)

This is another top I grabbed by Deletta and once again I took it in an X-Small. I tried on the Small to see the size difference and found the Small to be a little longer but much baggier and unflattering, so X-Small it is. I really like the soft aqua/mint-ish color of this top...it has the same faint lines running through it as last year's Winding Roads tank which I like. This would be a great layering piece...wish listed for sale!

Chevron Cardi-$98 (Neutral Motif)

This sweater turned out to be my "I can't believe I love this piece" item of the day. This is the first year I've tried experimenting with tops that have Dolman sleeves and while many still don't look fabulous on me, once in a while I find something I really like in this style, for instance this cardigan! This cardi is so cute and shot high up on my wish list the second I put it on. I struggle to find neutral, beige colored sweaters that flatter my skin tone so when I saw this one looked ok up against me I was super excited. I like the way it looks open and unbuttoned, as shown in the pictures. I'm a fan and can't wait to get this in my closet!

Orchard Grove Pullover-$88 (grey motif)

In a drastic contrast to the previous item, this sweater turned out to be the "hot mess" item of the day. What a disaster! Even getting it on and situated was a chore. I tried in on in a Small and I guess that was the right size...seriously, it was hard to tell (It isn't offered in an X-Small, just an FYI). It feels lopsided once on and I don't like the way the sleeves fall...I'm sure you can guess but this is a major PASS!!! Too bad to, because online, I loved it! All well.

New Kilter Cardi-$58 (I tried this in the Grey motif)

This came from the lounge-wear section of the store and you can totally tell...it's super comfy but really cute! I honestly cannot remember what size I tried this on in...it was either an X-Small or a Small....sorry! I usually take pictures of the tags but somehow missed this one. I really like the lightweight feel of this piece and I totally dig the wide stripes. I tried it both buttoned and unbuttoned and much prefer it unbuttoned as I think it looks a little odd buttoned with that flap hanging over the edge. I think it would be worth purchasing to only wear unbuttoned though. I don't usually button my cardigans anyways. This is wish listed for sale.

Marta Pullover-$88 (Blue Motif)

This was round 2 of the "hot mess" show for me in this group of reviews. I tried this on in an X-Small and as you can see I'm a bit sized out. This was overly huge on me and super sloppy. I didn't love the colors either...a bit blah against my skin tone. The blues could have been a bit brighter. I'd say size down one, maybe two sizes in this one. It's meant to be blousey, but this one runs HUGE! AN obvious PASS for me.

Water Wing Top-$58 (I tried this in the Dark Grey motif--but in reality it's navy blue)

This top stumps me a little. I thought it might have some potential but I'm still not so sure. I took a few pictures to get a full view of what it looked like on and in one picture I like it (where my arms are down) but in the picture where my arms are up, I"m not so sure). As mentioned above the dark grey looks navy blue...someone wasn't paying attention when they color coded this one, for sure. I think on the right person it could be cute...I'm just not sure I'm that right person. For now it's a pass, but at sale time I may look again.

First Light Skirt-$128

I tried this skirt on in both a size 2 and 4 and while the 2 fit, it was a little too bootylicious for my liking so I would definitely go with the 4 (which is what I am wearing in the pictures). I happen to love this skirt...it's super flattering, and I really like the pin striping and detailing. It would look great paired with so many different tops tucked into it. This is definitely wish listed for sale.

Antilles Tank-$68 (I tried on the Turquoise motif)

I tried this tank on in an X-Small and felt like I was swimming in it! It is a really pretty color and I love the look of the tank, but there is just so much material. The bottom billows out a lot and almost gives the look of something I would wear if I were trying to hide a pregnancy or something (I am definitely NOT pregnant, by the way). =) I really wish this top would have been made with less fabric because outside of that little issue I think it's a really cute tank. Sad. This one is a pass for me.

Gauzy Tiers Skirt-$68 (Red Motif)

I really liked this cute skirt when I saw it online and thought the red color would be a great addition to my closet. I tried it on in both an X-Small and a Small and am still undecided on which I prefer...they felt almost identical (I am wearing the X-Small in the picture). It's lightweight, has cute texture detailing and is a gorgeous shade of red. I am wishlisting this one for sale time.

So there you have it...all the items I tried on last week. Any of these catch your eye? Do tell!

Hope you all have a great start to the week...Happy (almost) Monday!

Showing my Anthro Love

This weekend is flying by...and Easter is already upon us tomorrow!!! Are the Easter baskets all sitting out and ready to be filled? My boys have set theirs out in hopes of them being filled with lots of fun things by the Easter Bunny. Both yesterday and today I pulled out some of my favorite newer acquisitions from Anthropologie...on Friday I wore a top I got on my trip to Vegas in February. I LOVE this top and even splurged by getting it at full price (which I don't do too often). I wore it exactly how I've worn it before...with skinny jeans and nude flats, but I really liked how it looked last time when I wore it like this so why go changing a good thing? I do actually have plans to wear it with white jeans in the future too, just to change it up a bit. =)

-Boldly Brushed Peasant Top-Anthropologie
-Skinny Jeans-Banana Republic
-BC Footwear Flats-DSW
-Bangle-Macy's

Today I wore a top that just arrived in the mail this week...it's one that I scored on sale last week and tracked down after waiting all day to decide if I really wanted to get it or not. I'm glad I did because I really do love the detailing. The arm holes are still a little big on me so I may look into having those fixed but for now I'll just pair it with a colorful cardigan to make it work (thanks for the idea Molly--I loved it on you with your purple cardigan a few days ago).

Before I go I wanted to share with you a new fragrance I'm in LOVE with! A few weeks ago hubby and I were walking through Nordstrom on date night with friends and we decided to find some new perfume/cologne we liked. We didn't buy any but now I know what to get him for Father's day (and maybe he'll take the hint and hook me up on Mother's day?!?) I ended up really liking "Daisy" by Marc Jacobs.

Have you tried it? It smells so good! It's a very fresh, light scent. I am in desperate need for some new perfume so hopefully this one will find it's way to my dresser soon! Do you have any perfumes you like? Do share!

Hope you are having a great week...stay tuned for those Anthro dressing room reviews!

You Asked!

Hi there everyone! Hope your weekend is going good! I went through all the questions I received this week and have some answers for you now. Thanks for all the questions! I'll get right to it...you asked, so now I'll tell!

Q. Your hair always look so great. What is your regular routine?

A. Wow, thanks! You're really too kind! My hair and I have not been the best of BFF's over the years...its the one thing that I critique the most in pictures of myself. I have very thin, fine hair which makes it fall flat as a board, and turn into weird mis-shaped waves in any humidity. Mis-shaped means that it doesn't look cute, by the way. =( I get my hair highlighted every 6-10 weeks...depending on if I'm aiming to have it look good for something in particular. 8 weeks seems to be the average though in between appts. I cut it every other appointment right now while I'm trying to grow it out. On a daily basis I wash and condition with Herbal Essences shampoo and conditioner that I pick up at Target. Nothing special. I usually wash it every day or every other day. Because it's so thin I can't go any longer than that or it will look super oily. I use Catwalk Root booster daily before I blow dry with my Chi hair dryer. The Chi is FABULOUS! I LOVE it and highly recommend. It cost a pretty penny, but was SOOO worth it. It takes me exactly 4 minutes to dry my hair. If I straighten my hair I use my Chi 1" flat iron, and if I curl it I use my cheapo 1" (it might be 1 1/4"...not sure) Conair curling iron from Target. After flattening I use Biosilk serum to give it a set look and if I curl it I spray all over with Garnier Fructis (Full control hold) hairspray. I love this hairspray because it doesn't feel like I've sprayed my hair at all but it totally helps keep my curl in all day. All in all it takes me about 15-20 minutes to do my hair. That would be the one benefit of having thin hair...I can do it pretty quick.

Q. What is your hobby or passion outside of your family and clothes? :)

A. There's more to life than shopping? haha Just kidding, Of course there is! My first love outside of family, friends (and shopping) is running. I have been a runner since high school and find it to be beneficial for both my physical and mental self. It's my "me" time! I don't run marathons or anything...I'm not THAT into it. I've run in two 10K races and plan to run my third this Thanksgiving. I also like to be crafty, although I haven't done as many crafts as I used to since #3 was born. I love to create pretty things. Scrapbooking used to be a big love of mine also. I used to be a part of a few online scrap store design teams and even had 2 layouts published in scrapbooking magazines before #3 was born. When I was pregnant though, I got super-duper tired and just didn't have the energy or desire to do it and haven't scrapped since. I hope to one day get the desire back to dive in and scrapbook. I'm so far behind at this point that it seems too overwhelming, but if I just start from the NOW I'll be doing ok. One thing that I really want to learn more about is sewing. As I mentioned in an earlier post I am planning on attempting to make a few skirts. I think it would be a neat skill to have! I also love to bake, read Nicholas Sparks books and watch cute romantic comedies.

Q. I want to know your background! I love stories about growing up, college days, figuring life out you know, the juicy stuff!

A. Well, let's see...I grew up in Nor Cal and lived in the same town until I graduated from high school and went away to college. I have three younger brothers and no sisters. That makes me the bossy older sister. =) As a kid I was a dancer...I did it all: jazz, ballet, tap and even Polynesian. I was in a performing tripe for many years. In high school I was a cheerleader and served in student government (word to the wise...if you don't want to plan your class reunions, don't be a senior class officer!!!). I have always been a super social person and placed a huge importance on having good girlfriends because I had no sisters to rely on for gossip or boy-talk, etc. I went to college at BYU in Provo, UT and majored in Health Sciences with an emphasis on Health Education. One of my most favorite times in my life was my college years...they were the best! At the end of my junior year of college (and a lot of dating) I met my future husband, Josh. Five days after meeting him I knew I wanted to marry him. We got married 13 months later. Our entire almost 10 year marriage (except one year) has been spent in schooling. It's been a long road to get to where we want to be (undergrad, dental school, and now residency). This will all end next summer when my husband finally finishes the last step--his Oral Surgery residency. We are in the military so we'll be moving to who knows where next summer when he finishes. We have three crazy fun little boys...a 7 year old, 4 1/2 year old and a 21 month old. I'm super outnumbered! I know what you want to know next...am I going to have any more to try to get my girl? The answer is NO! We are done. I feel super blessed to have my crew of three. My three equal others' five (I'm not kidding). They are a handful, but fun. I feel very lucky to be able to be a stay-at-home mom. I never really liked working so it works out great for me! That being said, it's not all fun and games. It's a tough job! Totally underpaid! =) BUT, it's totally worth it.

Q. I also want to know about your hair. I have fine hair that I'm trying to grow out. What products/tools do you use?

A. Hopefully I answered that one above. I wish I had some magic tool for getting hair to grow out faster...I'm super impatient and just want it to be long NOW!!! Good luck! =)

Q. What does your husband/family think of your blog?

A. My husband thinks it's funny. Not in a mean way or anything...he's just a total guy's guy and the thought of spending time writing about clothes, etc makes him laugh. That being said, he knows it makes me happy so he's happy I do it for me. He's not a fan of taking my picture for me though because I want him to take like 20 different pictures (I like to take tons and then pick the best one of the bunch). and he's more of a point and shoot 2-3 times only kinda guy. I fired him and just do timer shots myself now. =) My mom knows I have a blog but she never checks it. I didn't really tell any other members of my family because I was a little embarrassed to be honest. I guess I wasn't sure how I would start that conversation..."hey, you should check out my blog where I take pictures of myself in what I'm wearing most days!" haha. Eventually I know 1 or 2 of my sis-in-laws have found it but I haven't chatted with any of them about it. I would never want anyone to think I define myself by the content of this blog...it's just for fun and something I started because my husband was out of town for 2 months last summer and I wanted something to think about and do other than sit around lonely every night. I love seeing what others wear (I know you all love to people watch too) so I figured I'd join the club and post what I was wearing too.

Q. Have you told your friends about your blog?

A. When I first started my blog I told one friend, my mom and my husband. Eventually a few more friends found out, and then a few more. Words spreads quick. As I mentioned above, it's always a little embarrassing when people mention it, but it's something I have fun with so it's ok. I never outright tell people to go check out my blog...I'm too chicken to do that! =)

Q. Well I would like to know more about your running .... how you fit running into a busy family life! I keep trying to get back into it and just am having a hard time :) Also more background info as well ... love that!

A. As I mentioned before, I love to run. That's the first hurdle of exercise...learning to like it. It's not easy fitting it into my life, that's for sure. I run 3 days a week for 4-5 miles at a time. If I run on a weekday I wake up just before 6am and run on my treadmill in my room and watch TV. Usually as soon as I get out of the shower my kids are staring to wake up. Twice a week I go to the gym (24 Hour Fitness) and lift weights. Nothing hard-core, just for toning. This has been an area that I need to work harder on. I used to go three times a week and it's only two now...I've gotten a little lazy. I usually stay for an hour and do exercises for my abs, arms, legs, tush, etc. If my husband happens to be home on a Saturday morning and it's nice out sometimes I'll actually get off the treadmill and hit the pavement outside and run...it doesn't happen too often but it's a treat when it does. Basically I have decided that I'm a happier person and I just feel better about myself when I exercise, so I make time for it. Ask my husband...if I don't get all my runs in during the week I get grumpy.

Q. What's your workout routine like, you always look so in shape? Do you workout a lot, or are you naturally thin?

A. Well thanks! I am a naturally smaller framed person and am blessed with a good metabolism (so far...this will probably go south some day), but I would guess that I would be about 10 pounds heavier if I didn't work out. Sometimes it frustrates me because people think I look the way I do without doing anything. Um, I wish! =) I don't want anyone to think it's easy, because it's not. I have to work out and sweat just like everyone else! As for suggestions, I always say that the best way to drop pounds or inches is to do cardio. If you now run 2 miles, try running 3 instead. That being said, there is a definite benefit to lifting as well. Schedule an appointment with a personal trainer to get ideas on what type of exercises might be best for you. Most gyms will allow you a free session with a trainer if you are a new member. I like to take group classes too (although due to the preschool schedule I don't get to right now). Pilates is one of my very favorites! Group classes are a great way to get some exercise and when you see other people suffering like you it doesn't seem as bad! =) I think that if you make an appointment with yourself to exercise it will actually get done. Don't let ANYTHING get in the way of your workout. Don't schedule it when something else might tempt you to avoid it.

Q. Where do you want to eventually live after your hubby is done with everything?

A. That's a hard one...we are bound to the military until summer 2016 so we have a while before we even have the chance to decide. Both our families are in the west so I think we'd like to stay there. Maybe Arizona? Maybe Las Vegas? I really don't know. We actually really love the bay area and might consider that except that the cost of living in CA is so outrageous and the education system is seriously lacking due to budget cuts all over. If things changed then you never know. I do know that I DON'T want to live anywhere that it snows on a regular basis. No fun. I am a warm climate kinda girl. I'm a fan of living close enough to somewhere it snows so we can visit, but could do without dealing with it day in and day out every winter.

SO there ya go! A little more about me.

I have an outfit to share with you...it's from Friday when I had my jewelry party, which was a lot of fun! I picked this top up on sale this past month. It's one of those things I picked up on a whim on the way to the dressing room (half wondering why I grabbed it) and then LOVED once I tried it on. You just never know!

All About Green

Do you ever get into color ruts and wear the same colors OVER and OVER? Now, in reverse, do you ever forget to wear a color? Green would be the color I forget to wear. I happen to like green a lot, but for one reason or another just don't own a ton of it. I was playing on Polyvore the other night and decided I wanted to wear something green this week so I chose my long sleeved green cardigan that I've had for a few years now. I've probably only worn it (maybe) 5 times ever. Here's how I styled it:

And here's how it turned out in real life today:

I really liked the green paired with this cute polka-dot top I picked up at Old Navy a few months back. Every now and then Old Navy has an item that really impresses me and this top was definitely one of them.

Another green colored item made it's way into my hands this week...this little cutie:

My husband and I will be celebrating our 10 year wedding anniversary in a few weeks and he knew I was wanting a new purse (preferably a nicer one than not) so on his day off this week we SOMEHOW (wink! wink!)found ourselves at the Coach store at the outlets where they happened to be offering 30% off entire purchase coupons at the door. I laid eyes on this green purse and it was over. My husband could tell. He asked me if it would make me happy if he got that for me for my anniversary present...um, YES! So that is the story of how I got my first Coach bag. I love it! I love the fun color...it's perfect for spring. I'll probably have to change out to a bigger bag when we do park days and whatnot this summer to accommodate snacks, sunscreen, water, etc, but it is perfect for date night and everyday use around town.

That's all the green I've got for ya tonight. Tomorrow night I'm hosting my Stella & Dot jewelry party...should be fun! If you're interested in ordering anything let me know...I can still send you an email with a link to a catalog. I'm loving so many of their cute pieces...look at these:

I'll be posting answers to your questions this weekend...if you still have a question you want to ask me, let me know! I'll try my best to answer! =)

Hope you all have a fabulous Friday!!
