Girls Night Out Outfit

Every once in a while the spouses of my husband's dental squadron get together for dinner and girl talk.  This past week we met up at a Thai restaurant downtown and enjoyed an evening out.   Since we just moved here this was my first time going and meeting some of the other wives.  It was a lot of fun and even though Thai food isn't my all-time favorite, my dinner was actually really good!  Good food and good company...score!  There were actually quite a few of us that had just moved here so it was fun to hear where everyone had come from and what other places they had been.  I even got to meet a lady who just moved here from England that knows my bro-in-law and sis-in-law who are also stationed in England right now...small world!

After my little outing at The Limited the other day I decided to wear one of the new tops I purchased:

Silk Shine Tee-The Limited/ 1969 Always Skinny Jeans-Gap/  Mixed Media Heels-Anthropologie/ Kulfi Strands Necklace-Anthropologie/ Bracelets-J Crew Factory and Gap Factory/ Double Hoop Earrings-Banana Republic/ Flower Bud Ring-J Crew

This was the first time I wore my Mixed Media Heels as well and they were super comfortable...highly recommend these!

Anyone have any big plans for the 3-day weekend?  We are suppose to get some rain so we may be staying indoors more than usual.  We have a few more things to put together for the house before we have our first guest come next week so that will keep us busy too.  So excited to have my BFF in town!!!  I feel like I've been unpacking and putting things together for soooo long, but we've only been in the house just over a month so I guess it's not been that long yet.  I just unpacked the LAST box yesterday...so happy that's done!  I guess I do have two more boxes of files in my office but the movers destroyed our filing cabinet so I have no where to put those yet.  Guess I should go look for a new filing cabinet this weekend!

Hope you have a great three-day weekend!

PS--I'm not quite ready to post the items I will be selling yet, so stay tuned...still to come!

Fitting Room reviews: The Limited

When it comes to clothes shopping I tend to stick to a certain group of stores for the bulk of the items in my closet.  That being said, I'm never opposed to trying out some place new.  Within the past week I saw bloggers Tara and Veronika both post about the cutest striped shirt from The Limited and I became intrigued.  I've only ever purchased one thing from The Limited and it was about 4 years ago while I was on a vacation.  I haven't stepped back into a store since.  I didn't have a bad experience or anything, I just haven't been drawn to their clothing.  Until now!  I found out there was a store nearby so I stopped by the other day while I was out running errands to give the shirt a try.  I ended up loving it, as well as a few other items.  What made my visit to the store even more fun was that I was handed a 40% off the entire store coupon when I walked in...score!

Here's a few reviews of what I found:

LOVE!!!  I tried this on in an X-Small and it was a great fit.  The shirt is a little sheer but I think you could get away with not having to wear a cami underneath.  I'll have to try it on in the light at home to be sure.  I love the fact that it looks good both un-tucked and tucked in as pictured above...makes it even more versatile.  The material isn't my all time favorite, but it does fall nicely, which I appreciate.  This is an A+ piece in my opinion...a great staple piece for fall and winter as it can be paired with almost anything.  I've been playing with it on Polyvore and have paired it with jeans, colored jeans, skirts...its a great neutral piece.  I highly recommend this!   You will be seeing it in some OOTD pics in the future as it's now hanging in my closet!

When I walked into the store I was greeted by a sales assistant (SA) that was wearing this cute top and it immediately caught my eye.  I knew I wanted to try it on.  I tried it in an X-Small and it was a good fit.  It does have a bit of a boxy fit, but it's not too overwhelming.  I loved that the sparkly part of the shirt wasn't sequins, but a metallic crackle type material.  It's very pretty and gives it an interesting and unique look.  It makes it look a little more expensive than sequins. The shirt itself is a very pretty tannish/light pink color...I heard it referred to as "Barely pink" in the store.  It is pretty sheer so a cami underneath is required.  The SA handed me the light brown riding cardigan you see pictured above to try with it which is a combination I would not have grabbed myself.  In fact I even told her I probably wouldn't like it because I don't typically go for light brown anything.  But guess what...I really liked it!  It's an unlikely pairing of colors for me, for sure.  Throw on some riding boots and I would have been ready to go!  I took the cardigan in an X-Small.  Both items came home with me.  I ended up wearing this top last night to a dinner I had to attend and wore it with dark denim skinny jeans, heels and a statement necklace.  I loved how it turned out (pictures to come!!!)  It's a great top on it's own, but can be layered to add interest as well.  This is another piece I would highly recommend!

(in navy)

I tried this cute sweater on in an X-Small and it was a great fit.  I don't typically like these types of color block sweaters on me from places like J Crew because they always seem too short on my long torso and I spend the whole day pulling it down.  This sweater, however, was a great length.  It was not overly long, but was about an inch or two longer than I'm used to seeing,so that was a pleasant surprise.  The thing that sold me on this sweater was the cute button detailing down the one side. It just gives it a little something extra special.  It comes in two colors, but I chose the navy because it has that burgundy color mixed in which is a huge on-trend color for fall.  Sold!  I also brought this home with me.

So that's what I found on my little trip to The Limited.  I went in for one top and came home with a few more than that.  How does that always seem to happen?  =)  With the 40% coupon in hand I couldn't pass.  The price points were fantastic.

Do you own any of these items?  Have you tried any of them?  What do you think??  Chime in!

A Peek into my Closet

When we moved into our new house I had the opportunity to go through everything I owned as I hung it all up in my new closet.  I went from a sliding door closet in our old home, to a walk-in closet which has been such a nice change.  It's not the biggest walk-in closet ever, but it's much roomier than the one I previously had.  I tried to organize it so I could see almost everything (some shoes are still hiding unless I move clothes out of the way to see them, and I stuck to color coding by the rainbow.  That's my favorite way of organizing.  These aren't the greatest pictures ever, but I've had a few requests to post pictures of my new closet so hopefully these will give you an idea of how I organized:

View to the left side as you look in:
(Top shelf holds bulky sweaters and purses, while the rack holds scarves, winter coats, dress pants and dresses.  Shoes line the floor underneath two rows deep).

Looking straight in:
(Top rack has all my hanging shirts and bottom rack holds my belts (can't see), tanks and skirts.  Shoes line the floor three rows deep).

Close-up look of shoes and bottom rack:

Behind the Closet door:
(If you go in the closet and close the door you'll find a whole wall lined with shelves which was perfect for my folded shirts (top shelf) and cardigans (bottom three shelves).   I have my cardigans folded in piles according to color and sleeve-length.  I'm a little OCD like that. =)  Shoes line the floor, two rows deep.  I mainly keep summer sandals under there.  There is also a shoe holder that hangs behind the closet door that I forgot to take a picture of, that holds more flat sandals and flats.

So there's a little peek into my new closet.  I love it!  It's so much easier to see everything in this closet and organizing by color helps me see what I have and what I'm lacking (not much).

How do you organize your closet?  Do you go by the rainbow?  By brand?  By wherever you can find an empty hanger?  =)

After going through my closet (again) I have found a few more items that I plan to sell.  They are items I like and even love, but just don't work for me for one reason or another.  I'll be posting a few items soon so if you're interested, check back!

Have a great Tuesday!

My weekend...and a little Columbus Fashion Week talk

Holy cow, the weekend flew!  Can't figure out how it's already Monday again!  It was back to reality and back to the routine bright and early this morning...my older boys headed off to school and my littlest guy and I headed off to the gym where I took an hour long cycle class that kicked my butt!  In a good way, of course.  Feeling good now!  I came home, unpacked a few more boxes, hung a few more things on the wall, and am now avoiding the last 7 boxes that need to be unpacked in my guest room.  Better get on that since I have a guest coming soon!  So excited my BFF is coming to visit me next week!

We had a good weekend...went to a swim party and BBQ on Friday night, I got my hair done, hubby got working on putting together our office, and we went to dinner at a new to us Mexican restaurant on Saturday, then we went to church and just relaxed yesterday...good old fashioned family time is always welcome!  Saturday morning I got a fun phone call from one of the CMH (Columbus) Fashion Week coordinators inviting me to come interview the designers that will be showing at this year's fashion week in October, as well as to get a sneak peek at the looks they'll be sending down the runway.  They were holding the interviews/sneak peeks at the first model fittings which were that very afternoon.  I was so honored to be asked, and wanted so badly to go, but since we already had plans that afternoon I had to pass.  I had submitted my info when I saw a call for local fashion bloggers on Facebook to cover the event just that morning not realizing the event was that day, and got the phone call not 20 minutes later.  Hopefully I can be a little more aware of what's going on next year and try to get in on the action!  It would have been so fun to get a peek at the designers' clothing they plan to walk, and to interview them for my blog.  I'm hoping to attend some part of fashion week in October.  I've never gone to a fashion week...have you?  Anyone out there planning on attending CMH (Columbus) Fashion week?  Let me know!   You can check out all the CMH Fashion week info on their website HERE or on Facebook HERE.

I'll leave you with an outfit I wore recently...this top has been worn many times on my blog...it's one of my favorites!  Nothing like getting that cost per wear down, right?!!

Saturday Spottings

Just a few things I've spotted recently that I wouldn't mind adding to my closet...

Endless (also found at Anthropologie)

Gorgeous!  I love them in both the teal and taupe colors.  Perfection!

Anthropologie

I saw this in real life last weekend at Anthro and LOVED it!  It's a rich warm taupe color, but the bit of sparkle on the strap gives it an extra little something special to set it apart.  Fun fall bag!

Anthropologie

My favorite brand of denim is back with a new round of colors for fall.  I'm loving all the new colors, especially this minty green.  Maybe I have finally found my mint jeans!

Down East Basics

This is very reminiscent of a top Anthro had last year, but I have to say, I'm loving this color even more!  The Chevron pattern is amped up with the sequin action and the rose color makes this a  great summer to fall transition piece.  Casual yet cute!

Nordstrom

I walked past these in Nordstrom last week and they really caught my eye.  I wanted to try them on but they didn't have my size.  I want to try out the bootie trend this year and thought these might be a fun way to start.  I love the cognac color...so versatile!  Anyone have a different pair of booties they are loving?  DO share!!  I'd love suggestions!

What do you have your eye on?  Have you tried any of the items listed above?  What do you think?

I'm off to get my hair cut and colored today...so excited!  It's been too long...really, my roots are insane.  It's time. =)  I booked an appointment with a girl a few of my new friends here go to so I'm hoping I like her just as much as they do!  Crossing my fingers!!

Have a great weekend!

A little on the preppy side...

Last day of summer vacation for us today...and what do we have going on?  A lot!  We have the boys' play set being installed in the backyard (it's a little evil of us to install that with one day of summer left, right?! Didn't mean for it to work out that way but it happened...), we have school shoe shopping to do, #1 has a swim party tonight for Cub Scouts, and just general "getting ready" stuff to take care of for the first day of school.  Can't believe summer is over!

A few weeks ago I posted on my blog that I had picked up the cute J Crew Factory Camp-Shirt at my local Crewlet and this past weekend I finally pulled it out (meaning I finally took the time to iron it) and wore it to church.  Here's how I styled it:

Camp Shirt-J Crew Factory/ Ackee Pencil Skirt-Anthropologie/ Belt-J Crew Factory/ Lyons Pumps-Banana Republic/ Pieced Prism Necklace-Anthropologie/ Strung Hoop Earrings-Anthropologie/ Bardot Spiral Bracelet-Stella & Dot/ Flower Bud Ring-J Crew

This is definitely a much more preppy look than I usually go for but it was kind of fun to try a different look.  And I LOVE this shirt...can't wait to try to style it with skinny jeans!  Hope I can pull it off! =)

Speaking of church, I have a particular bag I take to church every week to carry my things (and the things I bring to keep my kids happy).  It's a Vera Bradley bag so it's colorful and a pretty memorable piece.  I've had this bag for over 5 years now...it's served me well. The second or third week I went to church here in Ohio I noticed another girl had the EXACT same bag!  Ahh!  A little awkward, not?!!  So this gave me the perfect opportunity to finally take the time to find a new bag for church.  It's probably time to do so anyways after 5 years.  I was hoping to find a gold or silver bag of some sort to carry but after searching high and low I just couldn't find one I loved for the price I wanted to pay.  Then the Kate Spade surprise sale email popped into my inbox yesterday and I found a great option that I decided to go with:

The black with little white polka dots will be a great neutral to work with each week, which was one of the mail goals when looking for this bag. And it was 1/3 of the regular price with the sale...perfect!

Alrighty...off to enjoy our last day of summer!  Happy middle of the week everyone...have a great day!

Today I love Mondays...and a few new Anthro fitting room reviews!!

Happy Monday everyone!  I used to love Mondays.  I liked the fresh start each week.  Then after my kids started school a few years ago, I started to dread them.  Getting up early after relaxing weekends weren't my favorite.  Now, I think I'm back to loving them.  Anthro decided to switch their sale days to Mondays a few weeks ago so now I welcome Monday morning!  It's so fun to wake up to markdowns!  Although I was tempted by quite a list of items this morning, I was good and only purchased two new things:

I decided to choose just two things and save for some fun fall items next month (with my birthday discount--woo hoo!!).  I popped into Anthro over the weekend at the Cincinnati store which was fabulous, and tried on a few new items.  Overall I wasn't too impressed with what I tried on, to be honest, but of course I still managed to add a few things to my wish list. Here are a few reviews of the things I loved most:

In real life:

Hello gorgeous!  I instantly fell in love with this gorgeous trench the minute I saw it and trying it on only sealed the deal.  This lovely is now sitting high on my birthday wish list.  I took this in a size 0.  I didn't try on a 2 because they didn't have one, but based on the online reviews I'd stick with a 0.  According to reviews, it runs large.  The color is navy but it is very dark, which is fine with me.  It closes with a side zipper under the flap and then with the buttons you see on the front.  The material is good quality and easily moves with you...not too stiff at all.  I love it because I can easily wear this to church on Sundays...it's dressy enough for that, yet casual enough for everyday wear.  A+ in my book...this is classic Anthro done well.

Tiered Ruffles Open Cardigan

In real life:

Absolutely loved this cardigan.  It is gorgeous!  I tried it on in the yellow and thought it was very pretty.  Then come to find out it comes in a pale pink too...how does one choose? =)  Take this in your regular size...I went with an X-Small.  It is a great length and the back detailing is fantastic.  It doesn't flare at all to the sides because the ruffles are only in the back, leaving your hips to look their normal width.  Thank you to whoever made sure that was the case!  Wish listed!

In real life (pardon the awful pattern mixing):

The colors in this cardigan scream fall...totally love these colors...they're so pretty!  I only tried on a Small in this and it was a pretty good fit but would like to try an X-Small to compare.  It is a very versatile option to have in the fall rotation.

In real life:

Last but certainly not least, this was so cute on and it will definitely be finding its way to my closet for fall.  Classic navy and white stripes with a fun twist!  I took this in an X-Small and it fit perfect.  I would say, based on a convo I had with my best friend, that this sweater is more suited for those who don't have a whole lot going on up top...it fit me well since I'm not super blessed up there. In fact, it actually made me look a little more blessed than I am! =)  Score!   But everyone is different, so give it a go...you never know!   It's a little sheer so I may wear a cami underneath to avoid any worry.  Wish listed!

So there you have it...my favorite finds on my Anthro trip.

What do you have your eye on lately?  Did you pick up anything from the Anthro sale?  Do tell!

Hope you had a great weekend and enjoy your Monday!

Simple Look

Some days I'm just not in the mood for anything too fussy.  I just want a comfy pair of skinny jeans and a tee.  Done.

Perfect Fit Striped Boatneck Tee-J Crew, Skimmer Legging Jeans-Gap, Wedge Sandals-Old Navy (OLD), Armadillo Necklace-Anthropologie, Bracelet-Silpada Jewelry, Ring-OLD

Ok, ok...so I like jewelry and cute shoes too so I may add those in also. =)

I don't make it a habit to wear red and green together too often because I immediately think Christmas, but with the navy blue up top I gave myself a free pass.

The weekend is upon us once again...yay!  It's our last weekend before school starts.  I think I'm ready.  We have all the "meet the teacher" and open house nights next week so the kids are excited to check out their new school.  This weekend we're thinking about driving down to Cincinnati for a day.  It'll be our first time there so I'm excited to check it out!  I plan to stop by Anthro to see what my new-to-me store looks like and to do a few returns.  Can't wait!

Any plans this weekend??  Hope you have a good one!

A few reviews in pictures and words: Loft Trench, ModCloth Pam Breeze-ly Tunic, Mixed Media Heels, Target Skinny Cords and Drifting Shimmer Bangle Set

Since I recently shared a few things that I purchased with you, I thought I'd do a few reviews to let you know how they all worked out.  I may purchase a lot, but I end up returning quite a few things in the end...either the fit is off, or I just don't love an item as much as I thought I would.  So here we go:

Loft

I ordered this trench in my normal Loft size, an XS.  The fit was perfect.  I maybe could have sized down to an XXS but I have broader shoulders so I may have had issue with it being too tight in that area in a smaller size.  The XS is fitted yet still has a little room under for layering pieces  The arm length was good on me...not too long.  After I snapped these pictures I realized you can also tighten the arm hole opening a bit to make it fit even better...nice touch.  The material is not too stiff at all.  It is comfortable and very well made.  The material and overall quality is impressive for Loft.  I have found their materials to be lack luster over the years so this is a nice change.  Overall I would say this is going to be a key piece in my fall wardrobe.  It's classic yet makes a statement all at once.  I highly recommend this trench!

ModCloth

I didn't take a picture of me wearing this top but I'll fill you in on my findings anyways.  I was SOOO disappointed by the fit and material of this top.  When I opened the package the first thing I saw was this slinky, almost shiny shirt staring back at me.  I pulled it out and immediately thought I was sent the wrong item.  It honestly looked like the top portion of silk pajamas.  It was very long and baggy and oh, the material...I just couldn't get past it.  It was awful.  I put it on and was even more horrified.  When I rolled the arms like in the picture above, I found the inside of the pajama top to be even shinier.  Heaven help me.  If they sold this in an X-Small I would have purchased that, but the smallest size it comes in is a small (what I got), so most smaller sized women will be sized out.  It looked like a tent on me.  And even if it did fit, the material was just horrid.  This will be returned this week.  Major fail.

Anthropologie

I ordered these shoes a few weeks ago in a size 8.5 based on the reviews.  I normally take an 8.5 or 9.  They fit great!  I found these to be the cutest shoes EVER!  They are so unique and the soft lavender color mixed with the cream and black design on the heel is brilliant.  The only complaint I have about these shoes is that they could have had a few more holes in the straps so I could have made the ankle wrap a little tighter around my small ankles.  I will probably take them to a cobbler to have an extra hole punched in each strap so that they'll fit perfectly.  All in all I'm thrilled with this purchase, even more so since they're already sold out again online.  Check in stores though...they may still be floating around!

Target

Last week I read a post by Debra from "I Dream of Anthropologie" showing some cheaper versions of more expensive clothing.  One of the comparisons she did was Anthropologie's AG skinny cords to Target's Mossimo skinny cords.  I was intrigued!  Anthro's version cost $168 while Target's cost just $22.99.  This was worth a look.  Last night when I went to do some school supply shopping at Target for my boys I decided to browse quickly through the women's section to see if I could find the Mossimo cords.  They must have just brought them out because they still had at least one of every size (that NEVER happens!!!).  I tried them on in both the yellow and the purple colors, and then also grabbed them in the turquoise colorway.  These are made in junior sizing, but I found them to fit more like a women's sized pant.  I tried these on in a size 3 to begin with and they were too big in the waist.  It's never good when you can stick your fist down the back of the pant...not cute.  I then tried on the size 1 and they fit perfect.  They have great stretch to them so they're super comfortable.  I am a HUGE fan of AG pants at Anthro, and have often proclaimed them to be my favorites, but I'm gonna have to go out on a limb here and say these Mossimo versions fit just as well as my AG's.  They even fit me much better than the Pilcro cords fit me last year...I passed on those altogether because the fit was so off on me.  The price point on these cords is too good to be true at $23 so I picked up all three colors I brought to the dressing room with me.  They also come in a few more colors online if you're interested.  RUN, don't walk to Target to grab these cords...they won't last long!  Thanks to Debra for pointing them out!!!

Anthropologie

I was so excited to get this bangle set in the mail and when they finally arrived, I knew they weren't keepers.  I opened the bag and shook them out and got a little surprise...I had glitter all over my hand.  These bangles have glitter on them!  GLITTER!  Are you crazy?  Bad form Anthro, bad form.  Due to the fact that I don't want to be covered in glitter every time I wear these, they'll be headed back to the store the next time I go.  Disappointment!

So there you have it...a few follow-ups.  Do you own any of these items?  Do you agree with the reviews or did you have different experiences?

Chime in!

Antho shopping...for home...and an OOTD

Since moving into our new house we have done a lot of "home" shopping.  The house we came from was about half the size of our home now (you can get much more bang for your buck in the mid-west!) so we had a lot to purchase, and still do.  It'll be a process to get it all done and decorated. I'm working on it little by little.  One room I have never spent much time or money on in the past is our master bedroom.  It's the room that always gets forgotten.  When we moved here I vowed to make it a priority.  We finally bought an actual bed (instead of the box spring and mattress we've always just used, and when Anthropologie had their 25% off bedding promo this past week I simply couldn't resist.  I bought myself an early birthday present:

I can't wait for it to arrive!
I think after 11 years of never decorating our master bedroom, it's well overdue.

Since we're talking Anthro, I thought I'd share a sale score I grabbed a few weeks back:

Given Then Gathered Column Dress-Anthropologie, Floral Watercolor Cardigan-J Crew Factory, Belt-J Crew Factory, Crest-Cut Wedges-Anthropologie, Sweet Drops Necklace-Anthropologie, Earrings-Pree Brulee, Bardot Spiral Bracelet-Stella & Dot, Flower Bud Ring-J Crew

I couldn't believe the Given Then Gathered Column Dress went on sale so soon...even if it was just for a limited time only.  I decided on the striped motif as I thought it would be most versatile. So many possibilities!

This is the last full week of summer vacation for us so we'll be enjoying a bit of sleeping in, lounging around and just playing it by ear...gotta enjoy not having a schedule while we can!  We managed to get backpacks and lunch bags purchased already but we still need to go do the school supply shopping trip at Target this week...us and a ton of others, I'm sure!  Best of luck to all those heading back this week!

Have a great Monday!

Lucky Find!

Once in a while I try really hard to hold out for a great deal on Anthro items.  I tell myself over and over NOT to put a certain something in my online cart, but to wait it out and see if I can score it on super sale at 2nd or 3rd cuts.  My size is always the first to sell out it seems, so it's hard to hold out, but sometimes it actually pays off.  Case in point:

Australe Cardigan-Anthropologie/ Ruffle Tiered Tank-Loft Factory/ Always Skinny Jeans-Gap/ Steve Madden sandals/ Small Open Circle Necklace-Shabby Apple/ Twisted Silver Bracelet/ Ring-Target

A few months back I accidentally deleted my online Anthropologie wish list.  Oh boy...if you have an online Anthro wish list you know how valuable that little thing can be, so to lose it was a total bummer.  The gorgeous Australe cardigan (pictured above) was one of the items on my now deleted wish list. I had been watching it to see if the price would drop again.  Fast forward to the month of June...moving week for me to be exact.  I got an email from the awesome Jessica of Breakfast at Gigi's letting me know she had a lead on an Australe cardigan that she thought I might have been waiting to find.  Oh, and by the way, it was now only $19.95!  Um, YES!  She put it on hold for me at her local store and I was able to call and do a charge send for it (with free shipping!!).  So now this little beauty sits happy in my closet and I can feel good about the fact that I waited it out and was lucky enough to grab it for just $20.  If only I was always that lucky!  Huge thanks Jessica!!!

Just an FYI...I received my Loft Corded Dobby Striped Trench coat in the mail yesterday and it is amazing!!    It fits perfectly.....I love it!  If I were to make a top 5 list of must haves this fall it would definitely make the cut.    Lucky for you, Loft came out with a 40% off promo today so you can grab one for a great price too!  AND it's fully stocked in all sizes...bonus!  I'd re-order it with the promo but since I got free shipping the first time around it only comes out to be a $6 difference...not worth the trouble. I'll try to remember to take a picture of it on today and post it, for anyone that is interested.

Off to get my to-do list started...on the list today is to buy patio furniture and find a side table and chair for my family room.  I also need to figure out what to do with my fireplace mantle.  The design dilemma never ends!  Yesterday we got the kid's backyard play set ordered so at least I got that checked off the list.  Only about 101 things left! =)

Hope you have a great day!

Another Anthro Sale day and my love for Maxi Dresses!

Happy Monday morning!  It was an even better than normal Monday morning when I woke up and saw Anthro was having an unusually scheduled sale this morning...yes, please!  I managed to pick up just a few goodies, of course.  I couldn't pass up these cute items:

I know I try to stay away from buying too many tanks but these two tanks are just gorgeous and I can't wait to pair them with multiple colored cardigans in the fall.  I had previously purchased the Laced Lineage Top from Anthro but haven't worn it yet and have decided to return it now that I ordered the Side Splashed Tank.  I just like the colors more in this one and think it would be more versatile.

Last night I came across this post from Gigi and fell in love with this cute trench from Loft:

Since I now live in land of "rain whenever you feel like it", I am now always on the hunt for a cute trench.  This one is simply adorable...major props to Loft on this one.  I haven't purchased anything from Loft in a very long time (except for a ring a few months back) so it was nice to see a piece that was this cute!  With the 25% code in hand I went ahead and ordered it.  I'm sure it will get more than enough use to justify it's purchase.  Just for reference, I ordered an XS, my normal Loft size.  Hoping it fits well!

And just because I'm still back logged, I figured I'd show you one last look I wore while we were in AZ last month.  Then I'll get back to current outfits.  The last day hubby and I were in Scottsdale on our getaway I pulled out my black Cinch & Flow Maxi dress.  I love this dress because it honestly feels like you're wearing pajamas when you wear it, yet you look dressed up still!  I ended up being able to score this dress for $20 when it hit sale the last time so it was a MAJOR score.

Color and Pattern Mixing all in one!

It's Friday!!!  This week flew by and I can't believe it's already the weekend once again!  I'm sticking close to home today to get some stuff done around the house and then headed out to a Girl's Night tonight...should be fun!  Tomorrow we'll be working on the house again...we finally picked out a color to paint our living room so that's priority #1.  After that we'll be setting up the office and getting that all organized.  Don't be jealous...you know you wish you could be having this much fun too. =)

Just a quick post today to share what I wore to church the first Sunday we were here.  I am never one to shy away from color, and have become one to not shy away from pattern mixing now either.  I decided to mix both color and patterns in this outfit...the idea of putting the top and skirt together was not my own, however.  My best friend came up with the combination and I have to say, I love it!  Thanks for the idea, Elise! =)

A few Anthro reviews and some fun finds...

Happy Thursday everyone!  What's on your agenda today?  For me it's a big round of organizing!  Organizing the toys in the basement today, to be exact.  I've put it off long enough.  Hubby is home today so he'll be pitching in around the house to get some things done.  It's a never-ending battle, this unpacking/organizing stuff, I tell ya!

It's been a while since I've shared some of the things I have my eye on so I thought I'd do a fun finds post today...with a few reviews thrown in.  I'd love to hear any opinions you have on any of the items I mention!

First up I thought I'd share a top I picked up last week at ModCloth.  I rarely shop at ModCloth but like to keep my eye on their offerings from time to time.  I spotted this gorgeous shirt the week it was released and just couldn't pass it up:

This top came in multiple colors, but this gorgeous green color won over all the rest.  I love that it can be dressed up or down.  I ordered this in a small so we'll see how it fits.  It's sheer so I plan to wear a top underneath.  I'm hoping it arrives in the next few days.  Here's how I plan to wear it casually:

Pam Breeze-ly Tunic/ Gap Perfect Boot Jeans/Seychelles Hot and Bothered Wedges

And then a little more dressy:

Pam Breeze-ly Tunic and No 2 Pencil Skirt in Garden Floral

A few days ago we ventured over to our closest outlet mall where we have the biggest J Crew Factory store I have ever seen!  It's like walking into a giant Old Navy or something!  It was fun to look around and see the cute new fall items coming out.  While there I spotted this cute top that I decided to add to my closet after trying on:

I've kind of wanted a denim shirt for a while now but just hadn't taken the plunge.  I liked this particular one because it was so lightweight and easily tucks into both skirts and pants (I'm thinking half-tuck like above).  Most denim shirts are made out of heavier material and don't flow well, so this was a great option.  It's a bit outside my box of the type of tops I normally wear, but I thought I'd give it a go anyways.  Why not?!  This is the first way I plan to wear it:

This week also brought a seriously strange sale at Anthro...it was like someone took a dart to the catalog and decided to put whatever they hit, on sale.  I won't complain though, because the Given Then Gathered Column Dress that I've been waiting to go on sale for a while now finally indeed went on sale!

I decided to go with the striped version as opposed to a solid color as I thought it would be a little more versatile to mix and match with cardigans and belts.  I tried it on in the Scottsdale Anthropologie when we were there last month and fell in love with it:

Just add a belt and some heels and I'm good to go!

Along with the dress I spied these cute shoes back in stock on my wish list so I threw them in my order as well:

I regretted not getting them after they sold out a few months back so I was thrilled to see them back again.  They are fully stocked in all sizes again, if you're interested!  I ordered a size 8 1/2 based on the reviews so we'll see how they fit.  Crossing my fingers!

Just for good measure I'll throw in two more items I tried on in Scottsdale and loved...I'm anxiously awaiting both to hit sale but no luck yet...they're still too new.

Here's how it looked on:

At first I couldn't decide if it was totally cute or straight out of grandma's closet, but in the end I think I decided it's cute.  My husband would disagree.  I showed it to him on the rack and he laughed.  It's cuter on I think.  I'll show him. =)  I tried this on in an XS and it's the way to go.  It's  made to be large in the neck, so be aware.  I think I would maybe wear something underneath just to keep my shoulders covered in case it drapes down too much.  I loved the bright colors...so pretty.  Its asymmetric so it's oddly shaped, but I think it works.  Some asymmetric tops simply don't work for me but this one is a go.

Loved it when I saw it online and really liked it on:

I tried this on in an X-Small and a Small and the Small was a better fit (I'm wearing a Small in the picture).  The X-Small was a little too tight all over for my liking.  If you are blessed up top I would definitely say to size up.  I'm not, and I needed to anyways!  I loved the colors of this top...it gives it ample opportunity for mixing and matching with cardigans and jewelry.  I would wear this top with a cardigan as the sleeves are pretty short on me.  Overall a really cute top.  Hurry to sale please!!!

So I finally got around to looking through the Nordstrom Anniversary sale online and I think I'm going to pass this time around.  There wasn't anything I was dying for and any black riding boots that were on sale were either still too $$$ or too wide in the circumference for my chicken legs.  Sad.  I did find a pair of shoes I'm totally in love with for the summer to fall transition, however.  Of course they're not on sale so I'm gonna wait it out for a bit and see if they'll hit a promo or sale anywhere before I grab them.  Check out these totally adorable shoes:

(funny name...)

Seychelles are one of my favorite shoe brands and every pair I own are super comfortable so I'd hope these would be right there with the rest.  They come in black, red and this clay color.  I'd go with clay, pictured here.  I see these being perfectly paired with ankle denim for fall.  Can't wait to try these on!!!

So what have you found lately that you're loving?  Do you own anything I've mentioned above?  Do share!!

Thanks for stopping by...have a great day!
