Across the pond...

Hi all!  We had a great, quick trip to Arizona over the weekend and enjoyed the fabulous warm  weather and visiting with family.  The wedding and reception were beautiful!  Weddings are always fun!  I've spent the past 48 hours unpacking, doing laundry and repacking for our next little adventure...we take off for England tonight! SO excited!  Hopefully our flight goes smoothly and I can talk a few certain people in our family into taking a nice long nap through the night.  We'll see how that goes.

I still have some last minute packing to do but after spending some time putting together my packing list on Polyvore the past few days, this packing job has become so much easier!  I've had a few readers ask to see my packing list for our trip, so here's what I plan on taking with me across the pond (broken up by days):

England Trip-Packing List #1 (Days 1-4)

England Trip-Packing List #3 (Days 8-10)

England Trip-Packing List #3 (Days 8-10) by jennifoundinmycloset featuring jegging jeans

England Trip-Packing List #4 (Days 11-12 and extra outfits)

England Trip-Packing List #4 (Days 11-12 and extra outfits) by jennifoundinmycloset featuring stone jewelry

England Trip--Extras

England Trip--Extras by jennifoundinmycloset featuring a trench coat

Now all I have to do is magically fit all that into two suitcases.  No prob.  =)

I threw in an umbrella too...the weather is looking like it's going to be in the 40's-low 50's  and sometimes rainy throughout the time we're there as of now, but who knows...that could change.  Crossing my fingers for some beautiful blue skies!!!

For all those who get to enjoy your spring break in the next week or two, have fun!!!  We come home the day before Spring break ends and school starts back up so there won't be much time to readjust to the time zone...thankfully we'll be gaining some time on the way home.  Hopefully that'll help!

I doubt I'll be blogging on our vacation, so check back the first week of April...I'll be back soon!

Happy Spring Break!
=)

One more for the road...

Just thought I'd pop in quickly before I take off for the weekend...I'm headed out for some warm weather in sunny AZ where I plan to fill up on family, wedding fun and lots of Jamba Juice!  Can't wait!  My poor little blog will be neglected quite a bit in the next few weeks...bare with me!  I will be back!  I'll try to post at least once more before we head out to England next week...you know how it is to travel though, prepping and planning takes over everything!

I wanted to share an outfit I wore recently with you...I had originally created this look for one of my readers, Mindy, as part of a vacation packing list plan for her trip to Disney, but I liked it so much I thought I'd try it out too!

See this look in the packing list plan in Polyvore HERE

Here & There Tee-Anthropologie
Cardigan-Target
Skimmer Legging Jeans-Gap
Miz Mooz "Siri" Knee-High Boots
Necklace-Nordstrom (old)
Bardot Hoop Earrings-Stella & Dot
Ring-Jewelry Party (old)

It was a super easy and casual look but I just love this tee...such fun colors...and stripes! My favorites!

By the way, did you check out J Crew's newest sale?  30% off all sale items!  And guess what popped up on sale??

I was so excited to order this!  I've had my eye on it for a while now.  Darn, I wish it would have been here in time to wear this Sunday...St Patrick's Day!  All well...I'm sure I'll find a way to wear it soon enough!

I also grabbed this cute jacket...it looks very European to me so I'm crossing my fingers it arrives in time for me to bring it with me on our trip next week!

Did you shop the J Crew 30% off sale??

Alright...time to finish packing!  Hope you have a great weekend!

Petals, Scallops and a few F21 Finds!

Hi all!

It's Monday!  Not just any Monday...Bachelor Finale Monday!!!  Is it weird that I'm excited to watch even though I read the spoilers months ago and already know who he chooses?  ;)  I'm looking forward to gathering with some girlfriends tonight to watch...it's always more fun to watch with friends, am I right?!  So are you team Lindsay or team Catherine?  I'm rooting for Lindsay!

So how was your weekend?  We had a good one!  We ended taking the kids to see "Oz: the Great and Powerful" on Saturday and we all really liked it!  It may not be for all little kids so proceed with caution...there were a few scarier parts to it, but my boys don't get scared easy by movies so we weren't too concerned.  Even my 3 year old told me he didn't think it was scary...such a tough guy.  =)     Sunday morning the fun was interrupted by an hour's loss of sleep...boo!  When you have church at 9am, daylight savings is not a happy thing.  It was a rough morning but we got through it.  Even worse was waking up this morning to a dark and dreary sky with pouring rain...it's already darker due to the time change but the rain made it even worse.  My kids tried to tell me it wasn't time to get up when I woke them...nice try.  I'm just looking forward to this weekend when we'll be headed to warm, sunny weather in AZ...the forecast for Saturday is 89 degrees...woo hoo!  I don't even know if I remember how to dress for warm weather.  Can't wait to try though!

So about a month ago I stumbled upon a group on Facebook called Accessory Auctions.  They hold sales for accessories as well as some clothing and shoes a few evenings a week.  I happened to find them the night they were selling this cute top and LOVED it!  I took a risk by ordering it, but it turned out to be a good buy...totally loving this orange, petal-topped blouse:

Here's how I wore it for it's inaugural appearance...I paired it with some scallops, of course! =)

I also wanted to share a few finds I came upon this weekend...at Forever 21.  I rarely buy anything there these days because you really have to go digging to find something that's of really good quality in my opinion, but sometimes you can find a diamond in the rough with some patience!  I was cleaning out my wallet the other day and found a gift card from F21 I forgot I had...it was actually merchandise credit from something I returned forever ago.  I figured now was as good a time as any to go see if I could spend it! I ended up grabbing these two items online...hopefully they are keepers otherwise I'll have to return them and be back where I started...with merchandise credit (not a fan of F21's return policies, by the way).

Knit Sleeve Chiffon Top

I liked that this top was a longer length and had lining built-in.  Hopefully it won't be very sheer.  I love the pretty mint color too!  Here's how I plan to wear it first:

F21 Knit Sleeve Chiffon Top/ J Crew Factory Denim Jacket/ Gap Always Skinny Neon Skimmer Jeans/ Splendid "Rodeo" Booties

F21 Knit Sleeve Chiffon Top/ J Crew Factory Denim Jacket/ Gap Always Skinny Neon Skimmer Jeans/ Splendid "Rodeo" Booties by jennifoundinmycloset featuring suede shoes

The second item I found was this cute sweatshirt...

Lace Overlay Pullover

I love the look of this casual piece...the lace gives it a little something extra special.  This would be perfect to travel in...easy and no fuss!  Here's how I might style it:

F21 Lace Overlay Pullover/ Gap Polka Dot Legging Skimmer Jeans/ Shimmered Seagrove Sandals

F21 Lace Overlay Pullover/ Gap Polka Dot Legging Skimmer Jeans/ Shimmered Seagrove Sandals by jennifoundinmycloset featuring forever 21

We'll see how it goes when they come!

Alright...off to get my kids ready for bed and myself over to the Bachelor get-together!

Thanks for stopping by!

A Little Artsy

Hi all!  Long time no blog!

First up, the cute girls over at Tartan & Sequins are featuring me as their Girl Crush of the Week today HERE!  Thanks ladies!  Head on over to learn some fun facts you may not already know about me! =)

*************

Wednesday ended up being a snow day here due to the 8 inches of snow that fell the night before...I've never seen so much snow fall in one night in my life!  My kids were beyond excited to get to stay home and play all day...and play they did!  They had a blast!  Even the base was shut down so hubby got to stay home as well.  We didn't leave the house all day...I got a ton done!  I ended up cleaning out my boy's rooms, catching up on laundry, cleaning some bathrooms, going for a run and working out, and of course spent some time with my boys and hubs.  It was kind of weird to have a day off in the middle of the week, but I'm always happy to have a day off at all so I'll take it!  Everyone was back to their regularly scheduled programs yesterday morning and now this morning the sun is actually shining...melt that snow I say!!!

I have some errands to get to this morning, but before I do I thought I'd share an outfit with you that I wore last week.  I purchased this tee last summer for super cheap when it hit 2nd cuts...it was one of those items I threw in my cart at the last second, half-way thinking I might return it, but when I got it, I ended up really liking it!  The design on the shirt seems very artsy to me...something I usually don't gravitate towards, but for some reason I really liked this one!

We are less than two weeks away from our big trip to England...time to start getting serious about a packing list!  The weather is up in the air...may be cold, may warm up a little it looks like so that makes it a little difficult to plan.  I think I'll probably just plan for cold weather with layers and then I'll be covered for it all.  First though, I'm off to purchase some new luggage today...we just decided ours is looking pretty sad and we need to replace it.  We bought it the week before we got married almost 12 years ago so I guess it's time. =)

Oh, and just in case anyone was wondering, remember how I purchased a new dress to wear to my brother's wedding next week?  Well, I got it and it's super cute, but a few inches shorter than I hoped it would be.  Never fear, I THINK I've solved the problem.  The fab team over at A Slip Shop on ETSY are amazing and helped me out by agreeing to ship me THIS cute extender slip in time for me to leave next week for the wedding.  I think the magenta color will be perfect with the dress.  I also tried the dress on with a few necklaces, and believe it or not, instead of a single gold chain, I liked a more colorful necklace with it best!  So here's the new, revised look I'll be wearing:

Hopefully it all comes together ok!

Off to get my day started...hope you have a good one!

Anthro drops a sale and some happy colors for this Monday morning!

Happy Monday!

Anthropologie stepped up to the plate and brought a sale to us this morning!  I honestly haven't shopped an Anthro sale in quite a while...nothing has impressed me much lately but this morning I found some goodies I couldn't pass up.  All jewelry this time around.  It's the cheapest way to change the look of an outfit!

Brown Motif

I have this in the pink motif and LOVE it!  No brainer for me.  Not to mention the pink one came out literally two years ago and NEVER went on sale!  Weird!  So I'm grabbing this one up quickly!

Cute!!!  I've been using this set in Polyvore for months now!

I actually picked up the pink version just a few days ago to go with my outfit for my brother's wedding so I'll get a price adjustment on those (yay!), and the green motif were just too cute to pass up so I picked those up as well.  =)

A fun, colorful, chunky necklace...it was calling my name!

I was excited to see so many pieces I was excited about on sale!  It's been a while!   Did you pick anything up on sale this morning?

So onto an outfit...if you have followed my blog for a while you know that I love bright colors...a lot!  Wearing bright, cheery colors can help make a blah winter day just a little bit happier.

I still can't believe I picked these jeans up for just $12!  Crazy cheap!

Speaking of feeling happy, I am truly happy this morning to see the sun out!  Sure, it's only 23 degrees outside, but that sun is definitely a welcome sight!  Sadly, it'll be gone by tomorrow...back to snow.  1-3 inches is suppose to fall tonight.

16 days till spring...16 days til spring...16 days till spring...I can make it!!!

Hope you have a great day!!!

Fancy Friday

Happy Friday!

Somehow this week totally got away from me and blogging took a back seat to all the other things we had going on.  Life happens!  Since today is the first day of March, I HAD to share my excitement over the fact that this is the month spring arrives!  YAY!  I don't know that I've ever looked forward to warm weather arriving more than I do this year.  It's been a long, cold winter people...bring back the sun!  March also brings some excitement for our family as we are traveling quite a bit.  We'll be heading to Arizona in a few weeks for my brother's wedding, and we are heading to England the week after that for 12 days!  It just hit me that all this is happening in like 2-3 weeks...I need to get ready!

So I thought I'd deem today "Fancy Friday" and share a look I wore a few weeks ago to church...that's where I get to wear my "fancy" outfits each week.

I wore this dress to a family wedding a few years ago.  It's been fun to mix and match it with different colors each time I wear it...black, purple and now this teal have been my favorites to wear with it.

Speaking of fancy and wedding guest dresses...I had a sudden burst of regret over the Boden dress I purchased to wear to my brother's wedding a few days ago (see previous post about the dress HERE). It's not like I don't like the dress I chose, because I do!  I just decided it's not my favorite for this particular event.  So I spent quite a bit of time surfing the net looking for another option yesterday.  Let me tell you, it's not easy to find exactly what I was looking for!  I knew I still wanted to use the Ivanka Trump "Apryl" cobalt blue pumps I ended up purchasing for the previous dress so I had that to find something to go with those.  Not an easy task when you add in looking for something knee-length.  Everything is either short (above the knee) or maxi length these days!  Finally I decided on a fun, bright and cheery dress I found at Nordstrom...according to the measurements listed online I think it will be long enough (crossing my fingers and toes!!!).  Here's the dress and how I might style it for the wedding:

(Click on the set above for item info)

I don't know about the necklace...I think the dress needs something bold, yet not too busy because of the print of the dress being so busy, so I'll have to try it all on together to see how it looks.  If you have any other necklace suggestions I'd love to hear!  And again, let's hope the dress is long enough on me to work!!  If not, I'll have to go back to the drawing board, or maybe just even wear the first dress I had purchased.

I thought the new dress looked really cute with what my boys will be wearing:

I thought it would be so easy to find yellow ties this time of year, but boy, was I wrong!  I ended up custom ordering these on ETSY HERE...love them!  They are just what I was looking for!

The funny this is that I have another brother getting married in May and the colors for that wedding are very similar...his will be bright blue and turquoise.  I think I'll just reuse these cute shirts and find new ties or vests for my crew...two for the price of one, thank you very much!  I, of course, will need a new dress.

Of course.  =)

Hope you have a fantastic Friday!
