Tribal Print

A huge trend this past year has been tribal print and from the looks of it it's going strong into spring.  It's all over!  I happen to love it if it's done right, like in this cute top:

Original Polyvore set for this look can be found HERE

"Emrie" Top-Piper Street
Eunice Cashmere Cardi-Anthropologie
Jeggings-American Eagle
Miz Mooz "Siri" Knee-High Boots-Amazon
Beaded Seaford Strands Necklace-Anthropologie
Bracelet-Anthropologie
Marc by Marc Jacobs "Henry Chrono" Watch-Piperlime
Dimpled Hoop Earrings-Anthropologie
Linked Circle Ring-Anthropologie

As much as I love this Aztec-print top, the necklace was what I started with when putting together this outfit.   I absolutely love the colors!!!

Have you jumped on the tribal/aztec-print bandwagon??

Running Around

My days are full of running...running a household, running around town, running a business and even running on a treadmill some mornings...running seems to be my theme.  On days I'm running all over it's best to be comfortable.  Just because I want to be comfortable doesn't mean I have to give up trying to look put together though!

Original Polyvore set for this look can be found HERE

Kaleidoscope Pocket Tee-Anthropologie
Cardigan-Banana Republic-Old
Miz Mooz "Kelsey" Boots-Piperlime
Double Torsade Necklace-Anthropologie
Dimpled Hoop Earrings-Anthropologie
Frisian Layered Bracelet-Anthropologie
Flower Bud Ring-J Crew

I am a firm believer that if you take an extra few minutes to put yourself together, throw on a necklace and do your make-up and hair, you'll feel so much better than if you didn't.   I always do!  You don't have to be dressed to the nines to feel put together...this outfit was simply a tee, a cardigan jeans and some boots...nothing fancy.  With the necklace though, it all of a sudden looked cuter.  With my hair and make-up done, it looked 10 times better!  And I felt more confident than if I had walked out in sweats and some running shoes.  Running around all day should not require running shoes...no lie. =)

Happy Thursday!

A Few Favorites for January...including an Anthro dress review!

Happy Monday!

It was suppose to be back to reality this morning as school was scheduled to start up again however we get a bonus day due to bad weather...I'm thrilled!  One more day to relax and enjoy time together at home.   Since we're staying indoors today it gives me plenty of time to do a little blogging and share a few of my favorite things for January!

Pieced Stripes Column Dress from Anthropologie

I saw this dress hanging in Anthropologie last week when I went shopping with friends and just HAD to try it on!  The colors are so perfect and the dress itself was such a cute shape.  Upon trying it on in the dressing room I fell in love!

I took this dress in a size small.  This brand tends to run a little on the tight side for me so the small is perfect.  I loved everything about it...everything!  I didn't want to take it off.  So, with a gift card from  Christmas in hand, this little gem came home with me and I have no regrets.  It fits perfectly into my wardrobe.  I love that it can go with sandals, heels or boots, and can be layered with jackets, cardigans or just worn alone.  And I like that it's 3/4 sleeve so it really can be worn year round! And the jewelry possibilities...too many to mention!  This may be one of the most versatile dresses in my closet.  I HIGHLY recommend it.  It's my new favorite dress!

The model shot of the Pieced Stripes Column dress online (seen above) shows the dress paired with the adorable Lilea Shooties.  I really liked these shoes when I first saw them but I told myself I wouldn't get them until they went on sale.  When I ended up buying the dress last week I decided I really wanted the Lilea Shooties to go with it (and many other outfits) but when I went to add them to my cart I found they were sold out and had already been on sale for a while.  I was soooo bummed!  I was determined to find them.  Customer service told me they were sold out in stores throughout the country.  Naturally, I didn't believe them.  Good thing too because after calling nearly 20 stores in search of them I finally found them in Miami on sale plus an additional 25% off!  Score!  I'm so excited to get these!  I bought them in the cream motif that are now sold out online but they are still available in black HERE.

"Emily" Cardigan from Piper Street

This might be my absolute favorite thing at Piper Street right now.  It's such a fun pattern and the bold colors are perfect to brighten up any drab winter day.  It's the perfect cozy winter cardigan!  We are currently sold out but expect to restock THIS WEEK so check back!

Rachel Roy "Arielly" Booties

I recently purchased my first pair of black booties but didn't love them when they arrived so it was back to the drawing board.  I loved these wedge booties when I saw them on another blogger recently so I did a little research and found them on sale on rachelroy.com.  I received them over the weekend and can't tell you how amazing they are!  They are remarkably comfortable and look so fab with skinnies.  As soon as the snow melts I'll be rocking these!!

I've been seeing tassel necklaces all over the place and am ready to jump on the bandwagon.  I love these necklaces by Kendra Scott...they're unique and come in multiple color choices.  Choosing which color to get is going to be the hardest part!

I have these in a few colors and really love them!  They go on like gloss but aren't sticky which is so rare!  The color pigment is really good and stays put for a few hours.  The colors I'm using right now look to be sold out online ("Bambi" and "Sophia") but there are still plenty to choose from!

My cute friend Rebecca recently started an online jewelry boutique via Facebook and she has some amazing pieces!  Her necklaces are great quality and very affordable.  Check her Facebook page often for new items and grab them quick because they sell fast!

What are you loving this month? I'd love to hear!!!

Winter Brights

Happy Friday!!!

It's a cold one here today...I woke up to 0 degree weather this morning.  You heard me...ZERO degrees!  Yikes!  The crazy thing is that it's suppose to be even colder next week.  Bracing myself!!!

There is nothing I like better in winter than wearing fun colors.  Earlier this week when I was at the mall with a few friends we all laughed about how we stood out in our bright, bold color choices amongst a sea of black and gray.  Now, don't get me wrong, I like wearing black or gray on occasion, there's nothing wrong with it.  It's just funny that the majority of people gravitate to those two colors during the winter months.  Honestly, I think I like wearing brights in the winter because it just makes me happy!

Camryn Cardigan-Piper Street

Miz Mooz "Siri" Knee-High Boots-Amazon

Are you afraid of bright colors in winter or do embrace them?  What's your go-to winter bright??

Do tell!!!

A New Year

Happy first day of the new year!

I love fresh starts.  Some call them do-overs, I call them restarts.  I'm calling this year Fab-'14.  I'm so excited for whats ahead!

We had such a fun fondue party last night!  I think I counted 30 guests in all and thankfully most came hungry to make a dent in all the good food we had.  We poured a little bubbly (Sparkling Cider) at midnight and toasted as the ball dropped.  I absolutely love throwing this party every year...it's such a fun tradition!

Yesterday I posted a polyvore set of what I planned on wearing so I thought I'd follow-up with how it turned out in real life:

Suede Skinny Belt-J Crew Factory

I don't know if you can see but the sleeves are faux-leather...I love that fun detail!

And here's my hot date and I at midnight...love this guy!

2013 was a great year but I'm excited for what 2014 has in store.

Here's to a Fab '14 for us all!!!
