Blush has been a very popular color in my closet lately.  I find myself wearing some light shade of pink multiple times a week....and I may have to stop myself from wearing it daily! I came across this gorgeous blush moto jacket while browsing online and it literally was love at first sight! There was no chance...it was a done deal.  The structured shoulders were a fun detail I was excited about after seeing the trend on the runway everywhere at Fashion Week last month. It's going to be a huge up and coming trend for the rest of the year, I have a feeling. And can we talk about fringe for a second? About how I can't stop with it either? Loving it on shoes, bags, clothing items...I'll admit it took me awhile to jump on the fringe bandwagon but now that I have, I'm all in.

Today is our first official day of spring break...I slept in till 8am, the sun is shining, about to hit the gym for a workout...life is good!  Can spring break last forever? =)

Hope your Monday is a great one!!

xoxo,
Jenni

Spring is in the air...which in the mid-west means the temperature goes back and forth between the 40's and the 70's on a pretty consistent basis until about May. Until then I dress in lightweight layers to keep warm and cool all at once.  It's a science!  I have found the best way to layer in the spring is to focus on light to medium weight cardigans and jackets.  When choosing these top layer pieces I love finding items that are both versatile and eye catching.  After all...they are what people will see first! I also always try to wear a base layer that will look cute on it's own if I remove the top layer so I have options throughout the day if the weather starts flip-flopping. Again...science. =)

This spring I've found a few great top layer options...one of my favorites has been this ivory colored mixed media jacket. While the color is super neutral and can pair with a million and one things, I love that it still stands out with it's faux leather detailing. The faux-leather sleeves and back look so rich and really take this jacket to another level.  The shape is great too...the waterfall draping in the front and cropped back is so flattering on so many body types! This will definitely be a go-to all season long!

Here are a few more of my favorite top layer options for spring:

Are you still grabbing for jackets where you are or is the weather already super hot?  Whatever the weather, enjoy your day!

One of the latest trends I'm seeing all over the place right now is the wrap blouse.  It's a fun twist on your typical blouse...I'm loving the extra little something special! I found this particular blouse at Anthropologie and immediately knew I wanted to add it to my closet. It's a really flattering cut and I love the versatility...you can tuck it into a skirt, wear it casually with distressed jeans and sandals in the summer or with faux-leather jeggings and booties like I did for a great date night look. If you're ready to try something new I suggest you hop on this bandwagon and get yourself familiar with a wrap blouse...you'll thank me later.

Here are a few other great wrap blouse options I'm loving:

H&M Fitting Room Reviews

Happy Monday!

Over the weekend I stopped by my local H&M to check out their latest releases. I like to go in about once a month to see what new arrivals they have...this time around was pretty successful! I was so excited to find some super cute new things!!  Before I share my fun finds, I will say I find H&M's number sizing to run small for me in some things. I usually wear a 0/2 in dresses and skirts and at H&M I am pretty consistently a size 4 in both.  In tops that go by number sizing I am almost always a size 4 as well because it gives a little extra length (long torso problems). I did try on some jeans and found them to run pretty true to size (they run number sizing 25-26-27-so on) so it's strictly the dresses, skirts and some tops I size up in.  Just wanted you to be aware if you haven't shopped much with them you may want to consider sizing up in those few items. The other disclaimer is that I wasn't able to find hardly any of the items I tried on available on their website yet...many times things arrive in the store first and then show up online later but sometimes they simply don't list them online.  You just never know!  Your best bet is to stop by your local store to see what they have on hand!

Onto the reviews....

Midi Dresses
(not online)

If you follow me on Instagram (if you don't, follow me HERE) you may have already seen my post about these cute dresses! I saw these hanging on the front wall in my store and immediately snatched them up! They are the cutest midi dresses ever! They came in a beautiful emerald green and black.  And they have pockets....eek!  Why are pockets so fun? I tried these on in a size 4 and they were a good fit. It was very fitted through the boddess but I fear a larger size would have been too big through other areas like the arms. I couldn't decide which I liked better so I ended up bringing both of these dresses home. No regret...at only $34.95 each they are such a steal!

Rolled Sleeve Mint Sweater
(not online)

This basic rolled sleeve sweater caught my eye because of the color. I love everything mint! I did notice it came in a few other colors but I was drawn to this one most. This is a great option for spring...it's cute, comfy and has a great relaxed feel to it. I tried this in an X-Small and it fit perfectly!

A-Line Tops
(stripe motif was the only one I found online)

I had high hopes for these two tees but once I put them on it just wasn't love. The necklines were pretty high and I just felt they weren't the most flattering cut on me.  I did feel they ran true to size (I tried them both in X-Small's).  Overall I think these both missed the mark a bit unfortunately.  Pass.

Black/White Colorblock Top
(not online)

The last top I tried ended up being super cute! It's classic black and white and I think it will be a really great date night top to pair with black jeggings and black peep toe heels or booties. I tried this top in a size 4 and it fit well. I recommend this one!

Overall I was excited with all my finds! Well done H&M!

Until next time...

This has been a long winter for the mid west. The only good things about the cold is I can wear gorgeous coats and boots galore!  I do love layers! My obsession with pink has been strong lately...I can't quite seem to shake it. I don't even feel like I need to apologize though...it's THE color of the season! And next season too. Prepare yourself now...a lot of pink is on it's way!

Happy Friday, friends!

Perfect Pumps

After a full winter of wearing nothing but booties and boots to keep my feet warm and covered up I am ready to dive into spring whole heartedly! I can't wait to break out all the colorful heels I've been dreaming of! I have my eye on quite a few gorgeous pumps and can't wait to incorporate a few new options into my wardrobe.  Having a variety of heels in your wardrobe is always fun...neutrals, colors, prints...so many choices!

Here's a few of my must-have heel categories for spring and a variety of options at all different price points for each:

Neutrals
Neutrals are the basic everyday heels that go with everything in your wardrobe! I must admit, I have the fewest of this category in my closet right now and am working to add a few more options. I consider neutrals to be taupe, tan, beige, white, ivory, and even leopard print. Here's a few great neutral options to consider:

Neutral Pumps

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7

Bright and Bold
This might be my favorite category to shop for! I tend to gravitate to bright, bold colors most often so I'm always excited to find a new color I haven't already tried! This spring I am on the hunt for a great pair of pumps in lime, magenta and cerulean, all colors I can see working with so many things in the my closet! These pumps have all caught my eye:

Bright and Bold Pumps

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7

Floral Print
Floral for spring....groundbreaking!!! (anyone love that movie as much as me?? LOL) Groundbreaking or not I am all about a great floral print on my feet. There are tons of great florals out there and I love the idea of wearing all solids up top (top and skirt or jeans) with a pop of fun at my feet. I'm loving these:

Floral Pumps

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7

Geo-Print
I would consider any print other than floral to fall into the geo-print category. There is something about a geo-print at the feet that can really add a modern touch to any look. While I tend to seek after this print less than the other categories, I still think they are so fun and great options to have on hand. These are some fun geo-print pumps I'd wear any day:

Geo-Pint Pumps

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7

Which category do you tend to gravitate towards most often? Which are you hoping to add more of to your closet this season? I'd love to know!

Have a great day!

Jenni
